JUNIPER THERAPY
The Juniper Therapy team, at Chaigeley School, is pleased to offer a range
of targeted outreach interventions to support pupils' social, emotional, and
mental health (SEMH). These include Drawing and Talking, Sensory Circuits,
and Motional, a trauma-informed approach to emotional development.
Motional
Drawing and Talking
Motional is online assessment tool
that for SEMH that draws on traumainformed practice. It helps identify
pupils’ emotional development needs
and supports the delivery of a range
of targeted interventions to reduce
barriers to learning, build emotional
literacy, resilience, and secure
relationships.
Drawing and Talking is a gentle,
non-intrusive early intervention
delivered one-to-one over a 12week programme. It enables
children to express and process
emotions through drawing or sand
play supporting them in making
sense of difficult or traumatic
experiences in a safe, structured
way.
Sensory support
Speech and Language
Sensory support in schools helps
pupils regulate and improves
engagement. Creating sensory
friendly environments with quiet
spaces and tools e.g., fidget
items, using sensory breaks, and
sensory circuits helps pupils stay
calm, focused, and ready to
learn.
Speech and language
intervention in-school support
for children with speech,
language, and communication
needs through both 1:1 sessions
and small group interventions.
All interventions are delivered by a fully qualified practitioner
using a trauma-informed, child-centred approach. Each
intervention is adaptable to meet the unique needs of individual
pupils, with the aim of nurturing emotional wellbeing, enhancing
self-regulation, and supporting positive engagement and
achievement within the school environment.
