Embedding Inclusive and
Trauma-Informed Practice
Linking Interventions to Whole-School SEND and Inclusion
Practice
Juniper Therapy work in collaboration with SENCOs, class teachers, and school
leaders to ensure that each pupil’s emotional, social, and communication
development forms part of a consistent, joined-up support plan.
Our work helps schools to:
Evidence SEMH and wellbeing progress through data and case studies.
Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) reviews.
Identify early indicators of need and plan targeted next steps.
Strengthen the overall culture of inclusion, belonging, and emotional safety.
Our practice is grounded in the understanding that all behaviour is a form of
communication. Juniper Therapy helps schools adopt relationship-based and
restorative approaches to behaviour, promoting emotional literacy and
resilience.
We support staff to:
Understand how feelings and experiences drive behaviour.
Use de-escalation strategies that prioritise safety, empathy, and dignity.
Apply repair and reflection to restore trust after incidents.
Embed trauma-informed, positive behaviour principles throughout school
culture.
By helping staff interpret behaviour through a trauma-aware lens, we enable
pupils to feel safe, understood, and ready to re-engage with learning.
